Executive Summary of the conference

3rd AMOGS ZONAL Conference was jointly organized by Loni Obstetric and Gynaecologicla Society and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology ,Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil Rural Medical College,Loni under aegis of AMOGS and Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences,Loni Ahmednagar ,Maharashtra. On 7th and 8th January 2017 at Rural medical College ,Loni



The conference theme was “Skills that Matter in Obstetrics , Gynaecology and Infertility”

There were 155 registrations for the conference. Twenty faculty were invited as either Operating surgeons, Chairpersons, Speakers and Judges for the poster sessions. Maharashtra Medical council had accorded four credit hours for the conference. Two MMC Observers were deputed for the conference. Johnson and Johnson, Storz ,Akumentis ,Oxinic, Bharat serum, Meyer pharma and other few pharmaceuticals participated in the conference

First day of the conference was dedicated to live operative workshop. Fifteen major gynaecological and endoscopic surgeries were performed by a team of expert surgeons from Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, ,Solapur, Ahmednagar, and Akola.

Conventional operative procedures like non decent vaginal hysterectomy, sacro-colpopexy and endoscopic procedures like total laparoscopic hysterectomy ,ilio-pectineal sling, shirodkars sling using mesh, ovarian cystectomy were demonstrated by the surgeons. The delegates sitting in the halls were constantly communicating with the operating team. The audio visual display was of high quality and was appreciated at both ends ,ie delegates in halls and by operating team in operation theatre.



On evening of 7th January ,the conference was inaugurated in the main auditorium ,at the hands of President of AMOGS Dr Kanan Yelikar and Vice chancellor of Pravara Instiyute of Medical Science ,Dr Shashank Dalvi. Dean of Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil Rural Medical College Dr R C Goyal graced the occasion. Inaugural function began with a homage to Padmabhushan late Shri.Balasaheb Vikhe Patil ,managing trustee of Pravara Medical Trust. The Speakers highlighted the importance of the theme chosen for the conference and need for arranging such conferences more often in Medical Colleges. Two video CDs were released during the inaugural function. One CD contained 20 different operative procedures ,whereas other CD contained all the posters presented in the conference by the postgraduate students

The Poster session was arranged on both the days of the conference. Twenty posters on interesting topics,including original research studies and cases reports were presented by the postgraduate students. The posters were judged by a senior invited faculty members. Best poster awards were given to postgraduate students during concluding session of the conference.

The banquet was arranged at Hotel Green Park and was largely attended by delegates.



Second day of the conference was dedicated to oral presentations and video display of various important operative obstetric skills including stepwise de-vascularisation surgeries, interventional ultra-sonographic procedures ,instrumental deliveries etc. There was good discussion following every presentation.

Ten pharma companies participated in the scientific exhibition of the conference.

All participants (Delegates, Faculty members,Postgraduate students) were given certificate of participation at the end of the conference.

Anonymous Feedback from all delegates was collected. Majority of the participants expressed high level of satisfaction in organization , contents and conduct of the conference.
