1. Electives (up to 3 months) in all specialties of Health Sciences – For medical students mandatory permission from National Medical Council at least 6 months in advance. For details please contact Directorate of International Relations – PIMS DU .

2. Certificate in Social Health & Development (International Twinning Program) - The Centre offers 4 to 12 week international twinning certificate program in social health & development since 2010-11. Every year 25 to 30 international premedical’s, public health and health sciences, pharmacy students from IE3 Global Internship Program of Oregon, Portland and Washington State Universities, USA, Drake University, USA, Lund University, Skovde University and Karolinska Institute, Sweden, Graz University, Austria, Colombia University, Colombia etc undertake this certificate program.

3. Serve Humanity International Volunteer Program (SHIP)- Volunteering, Internship, Working Holidays for International Students & Professionals in Public, Rural, Tribal Health, HIV/ AIDS. Community Empowerment, Environment, Teaching & Research, School of Public Health & Social Medicine, PIMS – DU. The following categories of people are eligible to apply for a volunteer placement. Professionals/skilled Volunteers: Qualified medical doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, public health expert, social scientist, anthropologist, nutritionist, environmentalist, social worker, teacher, researcher, humanist etc. Student Volunteers: Pre- Medical, Gap year pre-medical, medical students & medical residents, Pre-nursing and graduate nursing students. Physiotherapy students, Public health students, Para-medical students, Pre-health students, Physician Asst students, naturopathy students, Medical anthropology & medical psychology students, and all those who are interested in entering into health fields. Other Volunteers: Any individual interested to share his/her time. Skills & other resources in serving the needy people. Interested Institutions can also approach for deputation of a group of students for the course. Such institution can write to Director, CSM at the address given below Duration of volunteers at SHIP The CSM offer volunteer & internship placements on SHIP round the year for a duration of two weeks to one year.

4. School Health, Hygiene and Environment Program (SHAPE)- School Health, Hygiene and Environment Program is being implemented since 2011 in 30 schools covering 6200 students and 220 teachers with an aim to create safe, secure and healthy physical and social environment in schools and bring behavioural changes in the school community – students, teachers, staff, parents and neighborhood community.

5. Minor Research Projects - can be undertaken by the visiting student under the supervision of faculty from PIMS DU
