We are honoured and privileged to welcome Hon’ble Prof. Vinod Diwan, Senior Professor, Department of Global Public Health, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, as a chief guest for cornerstone unveiling and inauguration ceremony of College of Pharmacy on 2nd February 2023 at Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University) campus. The function was presided over by Hon’ble Dr. Rajendra Vikhe Patil, Chancellor, PIMS (DU) and Chairman, PMT. Hon’ble Mrs.Suvarnatai Vikhe Patil (Trustee), Hon’ble Dhruv Vikhe Patil (Trustee), Hon’ble Shri M.M. Pulate (Trustee) and Hon’ble Dr. V.N. Magare (Vice-Chancellor) graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour of the ceremony.

Prof.Dr. Vinod Diwan in his address outlined the role Indian Pharmaceutical and vaccine industry played in critical covid-19 pandemic phase. He insisted on need of interdisciplinary research and having collaboration with established research institutes and industries to make the institute ready for future challenges and opportunities. While appreciating the significant contribution made by the Pravara Medical Trust and Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences in extending the health care facilities to the common man, Hon’ble Governor welcomed the initiative of the Trust of starting College of Pharmacy. He stated further that Pharmacist of this college will be offered more academic flexibility by having experiential learning at clinical and hospital settings.

The resolution of starting Bachelor of Pharmacy course was realized under great leadership and vision of Hon’ble Dr.Rajendra Vikhe Patil Sir. In presidential address, Hon’ble Dr.Rajendra Vikhe Patil informed various activities and future plans of the Trust and reaffirmed the commitment to offer best learning experience for future pharmacist.

Hon’ble Dr. V.N. Magare summarised the Indian Pharmaceutical sector and its Global presence. Dr.Ravindra Laware, Principal, welcomed all dignitaries and Dr.Arunkumar Vyas (registrar) expressed his gratitude and proposed vote of thanks.
