International Collaboration





Objectives:

Objectives:

In order to promote academic and health care co-operation, the university has developed collaboration with University of Greifswald, Germany

The university had cooperation in the following areas:

  • Student Exchange: Participation of the students in the community based training programme with opportunities to meet students and faculty from their own future profession. Undertake elective postings at the Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Pravara Rural Hospital
  • Teacher Exchange: Aimed at developing the teachers academically and professionally and promoting the development of student-centered and community oriented educational methods
  • Staff Exchange: Exchange of Physicians from different specialist areas
  • Joint academic and clinical activities: Aimed at upgrading the medical services at Loni with the support from clinicians and physicians from Geifswald University


Duration of Agreement: 2007-2009. Currently in process of continuation.

Funding: Negotiated on the availability of funds

Outcome:

Since the inception of this collaboration three medical students from Greifswald University, have visited Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Pravara Rural Hospital and have undertaken elective postings in clinical subjects. A guest lecture was organized on “Salutogenic Approach towards Health” by inviting the faculty from Greifswald University.

At present the university intends to undertake joint collaborative research activity with the funding from European union.
